Code of Conduct

Lux is committed to an environment where people can learn, build, experiment, ask questions, collaborate, receive feedback and develop professionally without harassment, intimidation or disruption.

This Code applies, where relevant, to students; alumni taking part in Lux activities; instructors; mentors; staff; interns; contractors; volunteers; workshop and event attendees; visitors; and users of Lux premises or official online communities.

It covers physical classrooms and premises, online classes, Zoho Cliq, Lux-administered WhatsApp groups, video conferences, workshops, internships, projects, events, job-shadowing, career support and other community spaces officially operated by Lux. Conduct elsewhere may be considered only where it has a legitimate connection to Lux activities, community safety or a person's ability to participate. Lux does not generally control private conversations or unrelated private environments.

Community members should act respectfully and professionally, arrive punctually where reasonably possible, communicate constructively, collaborate honestly, meet responsibilities, respect instructors and peers, and take accountability for their actions.

• Use facilities, equipment and communication channels for appropriate purposes
• Follow reasonable class, project, event and safety instructions
• Give feedback about work rather than attacking the person
• Communicate promptly when a commitment cannot be met

Everyone should be treated with dignity. Harassment, bullying, intimidation, threats, stalking, discriminatory abuse, unwanted sexual conduct, humiliating or degrading behaviour, and deliberate disruption are not acceptable in Lux activities.

Submitted work must accurately represent the participant's contribution. Plagiarism, copied assignments or technical articles, submitting another person's code as your own, falsifying project contributions, fabricating screenshots or results, misrepresenting experience, and assessment misconduct undermine learning and are prohibited.

Collaboration is encouraged where an instructor or project permits it. In individual work, participants must distinguish their own contribution from assistance, sources and shared work, and provide attribution where appropriate.

Lux recognises that AI can support explanations, debugging, research, brainstorming, documentation, code review and concept learning where permitted. Students remain responsible for accuracy, security, attribution and their submitted work.

Do not submit AI-generated work you cannot explain, fabricate project results, present generated code as understood when you cannot explain how it works, use AI where an assessment expressly prohibits it, or use it to bypass learning objectives. Assignment-specific instructor rules take priority.

Participants should attend and engage with scheduled sessions, respect session times, tell the appropriate Lux contact when they cannot attend, and take reasonable responsibility for catching up. Applicable program or enrolment information may provide further requirements.

On Zoho Cliq, WhatsApp, email, video calls, classroom discussions and official channels, communicate professionally. Do not spam, repeatedly promote without permission, harass, use abusive language, impersonate another person, or disclose someone's private information without authority.

Respect private conversations, student records, contact details, screenshots, class recordings, internal documents, credentials and confidential company or project information. Do not publish passwords, API keys, access tokens, database credentials or private student information in GitHub repositories, technical articles or public posts.

Do not attempt unauthorised access, bypass controls, attack or intentionally disrupt Lux infrastructure, install malware, steal credentials, access another user's account, or exploit systems without permission. Security research and exercises must occur only in environments and within boundaries expressly authorised for that activity.

• Respect equipment, maintain reasonable cleanliness and behave safely
• Follow access-control requirements and do not share access credentials
• Respect restricted areas and report security incidents promptly
• Do not deliberately damage premises or property

Do not attend or take part in Lux activities in a condition or manner that creates a safety risk, materially disrupts others, damages property or creates an unsafe environment. This Code does not seek to regulate lawful private life unrelated to Lux.

Do not secretly record or publicly distribute identifiable student conversations, private classes, mentorship sessions or internal meetings where that would violate privacy, confidentiality or applicable Lux rules. Ask for appropriate permission before sharing sensitive or private content.

Report misconduct, safety concerns, harassment, academic misconduct or security issues to info@luxdevhq.com. Lux aims to handle reports sensitively and share information only where reasonably necessary to assess, investigate, respond, protect safety or meet legal obligations. Absolute confidentiality cannot be promised.

Depending on seriousness, repetition, circumstances, impact, safety and applicable agreements, Lux may provide informal guidance or a warning; require corrective action; remove inappropriate content; temporarily restrict a channel, event or facility; apply an academic consequence; suspend or end participation; or refer a matter to appropriate authorities where required.

Not every concern follows an identical process. Responses should be proportionate where reasonably possible and may also be governed by the Terms of Service or program-specific arrangements.

Before significant disciplinary decisions, Lux aims, where reasonably possible, to consider relevant facts, available evidence, context and affected parties. Immediate protective steps may be appropriate where safety, security or evidence is at risk.
